The Painted Lie – a poem

 A layer of paint,

another couple of layers

and after it dried up,

a layer of polish.

They made sure the object

didn't look like it really was,

it was totally changed,

totally modified.

If someone came to look for it

They wouldn't have found it

because it no longer resembled

its former self.

Transformation of truth

with layers of lies

makes it unbelievable

no matter how much you beautify it.

Sadly some people

tell so many lies

they lose track of

the real truth.

They live their lie,

they hide the truth

and think that the truth

will forever be hidden.

Little do they know

the truth has a habit

of raising its head

sometime or another.

The painted lies,

the beautified lies,

will all unravel

when the truth is revealed.
