Fight the Battle for Your Life

What are the problems you are facing?

Your problems are taking you to the next level in your life.

No challenge - no victory!

Get up and fight the battle for your life.
Don't sit there and allow your adversary to take your life.

You were born because God wanted someone like you to be a part of His creation. He has a plan for you - a plan for a good future.

Fight for His plan to be fulfilled in your life. Don't allow anyone to rob you of His best for you and your life.

You are worth fighting for!
You really are.

If no one has told you that you have value or worth or made you feel that way... the problem is with them, not you.

They were stingy with their words and deeds, too self-centered to see good in anyone else. Don't let their weaknesses or faults make you look down on yourself!

Don't hate yourself because they hated you.
Don't neglect yourself because others neglected you and your needs.

Don't expect others to reward you or acknowledge your goodness...
Keep doing good for the right reasons and God will reward you.

Keep fighting in faith, build up the warrior in you!

Wounded Soldier

http://kkyr.com/wounded-warrior-project/
Wounded soldier soldier
Just come home from the fight
Feeling no one wants you
So confused of wrong and right
Wondering how it is going to be
Now that life has changed so much
Wondering if you’re equal
To challenges in sight!
Wounded soldier soldier
You still have to fight
Wounded soldier soldier
This war of life!

Things have changed
They no longer look the same
Yesterday you were strong
Today it is just a memory
Longing for that feeling
The feeling it’s alright!
Crying out in pain and misery
For wounds you cannot see
Wondering if you’ll get well
If you can move on in life!
Wounded soldier soldier
You’re still a hero deep inside
Come on and hold your pride!

Times are changing they say
The war raises questions
Leave no answers behind
You’re still facing the burdens
Ever since that day…
How can you ever forget
The journey to the war
The prodding and the pruning
To sharpen your reflex
And when that moment came
And you were down
Wounded soldier soldier
You still wear the crown
For standing and believing
It’s right to fight for a just cause!

Wake Up My Sister! - A song by Henrietta Decruz

This is a song that I specially wrote and composed on the occasion of the Bicentenary Celebrations of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary, the group that runs the College of Social Work. It was in 1990.

The background music is by Leon D'Souza and the voice in this track belongs to Aarti Rao. It was my first time in a sound studio then! An unforgettable experience.

The song can be heard at this link...

Life is Calling You - a Song

Here is a song I have written for those who are going through the toughest of times... and feel like they can't take it any more... The message is - 'Hold on! You can make it!!! Please remember gold is made perfect in fire.'

I hope this song is a blessing to you!

You can hear it here: https://soundcloud.com/henrietta-decruz/life-is-calling-you-henrietta-decruz-paul-mathew

Check out the lyrics of the song...

Life is Calling You

Don’t sit alone and cry and groan
Don’t think that you were born to moan
Though things may look so very bad
Your heart so heavy and so sad…

You’ve been called to a life of greatness
You were chosen for a special purpose
And you’ve got it inside you
So don't let others bother you.

Chorus:
      Baby give it a try
      You just can’t die
      Life is calling you
      Everything can be made new!
Life is calling you… (2) Pick up the phone (3)

Life is great for those who held on
For they were not like wind just gone
The wish to stay on builds up your strength
So don’t let people mark your end.

Chorus
(Spoken words)

You’ve gotta make it, you’ve gotta make it right
You’ve gotta fight it, you’ve gotta put up a fight
Don’t think that you won’t make it
Don’t say that you can’t take it.

Chorus

      Pick up the phone (3)
      Call the helpline…
      There are people who care
      People to share
      Your heart’s cry…
Come on – pick up the phone… (2)
      Life is calling you…

What you don’t say...

It is easy to fight over
What a person said.
What many fail to understand
Is that many a time
The reason why
Someone said something
Was because
Someone else did not say anything.

Silence is often used as
A doubled edged sword.
You say something
And yet you don’t say anything!
It is a deprivation
Of a much needed communication
That sometimes causes
Volcanoes of emotion to erupt
From the grieved person
Who wanted to hear ‘something’.

When someone continuously deprives
Another of food
It is a crime.
They are blamed of
Starving a person to death.
But when someone continuously deprives
Another of communication
Which is vital to keep a relationship going,
No one considers it a crime.
And yet a person’s heart can die
For want of fellowship,
The need for self expression and understanding.

The communication we receive from loved ones
Is like sunlight.
It gives us energy, strength and
Keeps us going.
Lock up a plant in a dungeon
Without sunlight
And it shrivels and dies.
Human beings are like plants
They need nurturing and affection
So when you call someone a ‘friend’
Make sure you communicate.

A black hole

Flitting from moment to moment, job to job….
I filled the time with things to do
Roles to live out
Needs to meet
Help to be given
Where it was seen

Years have gone by
I made choices
Ignored voices
Kept moving when things had stalled
Staying had run out of reasons

One look back at time gone by
‘It's gone!’ my spirit cries
Never to return
I make a vain effort to retrieve
Pull strands of invisible time
Lost, I’ve lost it all whatever was mine

Caving in to the mounting despair
I fret about years
Give way to tears
A sinking feeling covers my being
Will I get out of this abyss?

Time gone by is no more the worry
Time left in hand is paramount
My whole focus of existence now shifts
How will I pull myself out of this rut?
Living to please others has had a casualty
The price I had to pay was ‘me’

Searching inside for some pointers
I seek the voice I did not heed
I call out and wait for a response
Hello! Is anyone there?
No sound… just silence

I look at the trash heap, my life
If only I listened when the voice had called
I would have had a better story to tell
A guide it would’ve been to take me home
Home where there’s fulfillment and peace
A life well lived, a legacy to leave behind

Cough! Cough! Sputter! Spatter!
Something just came back to life
I rush at break neck speed to its side
Ah! I feared you wouldn’t make it…
The voice smiles

Now its time to leave this place it says
But how? I’m in a rut I plead
I have no strength no ideas to get out of here
Just trust your heart
It has all the answers it said.

We combine our strengths
My desperation and its confidence
At countdown we pull with all our might
This fight is for my life, myself and me
Suddenly I see the light I’m free!
Out of the black hole, I’m on a journey discovering me!
